Laptop Webcam Problems? Bring It In for an Assessment
A laptop camera that won’t show a picture can interrupt video calls, online classes and meetings. Sometimes the problem appears in one application; other times, the camera doesn’t seem to work anywhere.
If your laptop webcam isn’t working as expected, bring it to SNR Guelph or SNR Fergus for an assessment.
Tell us what’s happening
A clear description helps us understand the issue. Let us know whether the camera shows a black image, displays an error message or doesn’t appear to respond at all.
It also helps to know:
- Does the problem happen in one app or more than one?
- Does the camera work sometimes, or has it stopped working entirely?
- Did the issue begin after a drop, repair or another noticeable change?
- Are you using the laptop’s built-in camera or an external webcam?
If you see an error message, write it down or take a photo to show us.
Bring your laptop in
Bring your laptop to either location so we can assess the camera problem. If you use an external webcam, bring it along and tell us when the issue occurs. You can also ask whether to bring your power adapter.
Repair options, quotes, turnaround and warranty terms depend on the model, fault and parts availability. We can discuss the next steps with you after the assessment.
